Shine On award

Shine on award

Big thanks to PuppyPanic for nominating Ruby the black labrador for a Shine On award!

Bloggers are (on the whole) incredibly supportive and encouraging and the award system is a nice ‘pat on the back’ but also a great way of introducing people to your blog. I’ve really enjoyed my journaling experience so far and hope to keep up my daily postings.

The Shine On rules are as follows:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.

2. Link back to the person who nominated you.

3. State 7 things about yourself

4. Nominate up to 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.

5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award requirements.

———————————————————————————

So here goes – 7 things about myself (owner not Ruby – she gets enough air time):

1. I feel more connected to Ruby since blogging (which is a good thing) – think it has been therapeutic!

2. I grew up with black labradors but they didn’t seem to have the food obsession that Ruby does

3. I love mountains, especially being amongst them

4. I cycled across Tibet a couple of years ago (left Lhasa and 1,000km later arrived in Kathmandu)

5. My children are amazed that I have a blog and a Facebook account (they don’t…yet)

6. I’m vegetarian but Ruby definitely isn’t

7. I love to travel and am sad that where I live (Australia) is such a long way away from the rest of the world

I’d like to nominate the following bloggers for the next series of Shine On awards:

1. Adventures of a dog mum

2. The Yellow Dog’s blog

3. Edibles and Travels

4. AmiLoo’s Photography

5. Barefoot Photography

6. …things I LOVE!

7. Filling my bag with gear

8. Kirstyn Skelley

Congrats! Totally agree with #1. Blogging clarifies my thoughts when I have to put it in black and white, versus living in the minute and not thinking much at all… I’m really good at zoning out 😛 #4 is awesome, things that I wish i did/could do but stamina and skill-wise I think is just too huge a challenge. Good for you! #7 People actually aspire to move to Australia over here :P… you have the sea and the mountains within access in hours (depending on where you are), no passport or visa required. 😉

Thanks for the congrats – glad you feel the same about Donna and yes, I should be happy I live in a place where freedoms are tolerated (generally) and we have great weather! On cycling across Tibet – what can I say but I love a challenge 🙂

Hi there Ruby, and congrats on your award! Your owner certainly has done some pretty amazing things – cycling across Tibet, WOW! Thanks SO much for mentioning Things I Love, it’s much appreciated! By the way, I spent a year living in Australia, and IT IS AWESOME!

You’re very welcome! Glad you liked Australia. It’s a lucky place to be living in.
