You only hurt the ones you love

Angry Bird was a Christmas present. He’s my baby and I love him ferociously.  I carry him around the house, suck his fur and spend hours giving him a total body groom.  Every now and again he’s badly behaved so discipline is needed which involves ripping his stuffing out.  Owner keeps mending his wounds (with a perfect cross stitch) but he’s still naughty and I have to teach him a lesson again.  This time I maybe went too far.  Stuffing everywhere, Angry Bird flat as a pancake. Not sure he’ll recover this time…

Yes good idea – will have to do my best puppy dog eyes. Only like soft toys though. Plastic ones get their heads bitten off in 2 seconds and with squeaky toys I don’t stop til I’ve ripped the toy apart to get at the squeak.

my dogs have been living for a month without toys now because nothing really lasts long. oh the joys of taking care of dogs! 🙂 i gotta get them kongs next time!

I also give Ruby plastic milk cartons to chew on sometimes smeared inside with peanut butter – a rare treat!

And you look quiet upset by it Ruby…. are tuckered out from the activity.

  3. I do the same with my toy dinosaur. I love her but she deserves a good throttle every now and then to teach her a lesson.

Wasn’t this a movie ‘Angry Birdie tired Ruby’ hehehe 🙂

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jun 19 2013 12:23 pm

or maybe ‘The revenge of an angry bird’ or a book called ‘Rip ’em apart and eat ’em: how I conquered my fear of soft toys’?

      • fozziemum / Jun 19 2013 12:29 pm

Hahahaha the dog toy industry has hit pay dirt with some doggies….constant turnover 🙂

RIP angry bird!! Old things have to go to make room for new things 😛

Well – her birthday is coming up and there’s a 20% sale at Pet Barn tomorrow…

Seems like Angry Bird has gone to birdy heaven for sure. Simba has teddies like that. I can’t wait to see what Ruby is going to get for her birthday. 😀
Love the photo. She is absolutely adorable! 🙂

She’s actually been carrying him around all night! I will splash out and get her something new though and a marrow bone. Easy to shop for dogs – they seem happy with anything!

      • Sonel / Jun 19 2013 10:19 pm

Awww shame. So I guess she miss him. 🙂
Yes, quite easy but not if your name is Simba, the lion. LOL! I am first tell him it’s “mine” before he decides he wants it as you can’t have anything. Everything must be “his” and well, if he decides he doesn’t like a smell, then you can forget. LOL!

Oh my goodness! You and Jack Henry must get together to compare notes as to the best way to discipline toys-Jack prefers taking off heads and then strewing stuffing around the room–tastefully of course- 😉

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 12 2013 2:43 pm

And do you push the stuffing in and sew it back up? I do a few times and then give up!!!

      • littledogslaughed / Aug 13 2013 1:57 am

Yes, especially with the supposedly “indestructible” toys I have gotten for jack Henry but then it starts all over again-part of daily life with a super chewer!

They are funny creatures aren’t they??

Wow – what a fantastic video and it’s not just the soft toy bit which resonates. A must see!!
