Bunny fest

Bunnies in the woods

Bunnies in the woods

Yesterday there was an unexpected treat in the form of a rabbit.  Today it was a veritable bunny fest.

Coming round the corner where I spotted Flopsy, two little fox terriers sniffled excitedly so I knew the chase was on again.  This time though there were two little white and brown cottontails of slow-moving fur.

Not wanting to test my (or her) luck, owner leashed me and called the ranger.  He came quick smart and the three humans captured them both.  Apparently someone is dumping pet rabbits in the park at the moment and over ten have been taken to the local vet for rehousing.  Think I would quite like to have one at home – could groom him like Angry Bird and then disembowel and eat the innards.  Funny thing is though, think owner would strongly object…

I can’t believe someone is dumping bunnies, that’s just not right!

No it’s not and we’re not happy about it. I think two have gone to park families already though which is good.

I can’t understand how humans could do that Ruby. Luckily for them both you and Charlie were there and more bunnies were saved. I bet you would like to have one at home Ruby but I am sure Charlie won’t have you playing with it like you did with Angry Bird. LOL!

Yes – it’s sad isn’t it. Last year someone dumped about 6 egg laying chickens in the park and they kept being sighted but no one could catch them. Not sure what happened in the end but there are foxes in the park…

Oh, some humans should just be shot for sure! 😦

Terrible. But speaking to the vet many have found homes and two went to local daycare centres which is nice.
