Knitting with Ruby Part 1

Owner had a burst of crafting on the weekend (highly unusual, very rare, never happens) and started to knit a tea cosy. Couldn’t stop myself from helping out whilst she was away and ended up unravelling and completely knotting up a whole ball of wool – oops sorry!

Ruby, good for you for seeking inspiration for your creative side! Wooooowoooooo, Ku

Haha! Welcome to the world of animal and crafting blogs 😀 I love the colour you’ve chosen, but obviously Ruby wasn’t so impressed. Maybe she’s more of a pink girl?

Thanks for the welcome – maybe crafters and dogs go together!? Yes, definitely think Ruby a deep red/vibrant pink kind of girl 🙂

Yes, it’s quite clear Ruby disapproves of your colour choice! Labradors & knitting, it can be an interesting combination! The only other blog I know of apart from our three is Knitting Sarah, who has a Lab. And Kate Davies Designs often refers to her black Lab Bruce with photos. I wonder how many others there are out there. 😄

Oh my gawd, she is just toooo adorable. That is the best picture; you should enter it into a contest. (dang, then you might have to compete with my Chaya or Shadow). No worries – it’s a contest winner for sure! Very fun post, keep ’em coming!

Thanks very much – she does look cute doesn’t she? Mind you there is a fine line between cute and other less desirable charcter traits and she’s often on the wrong side of the line 🙂

Ohhh, I hear ya. SOMEbody came inside the house this morning after rolling in the mud. I wasn’t amused and he knew it!

Oh Ruby, Ruby, Ruby! Tsk, tsk, tsk. I hope it was worth it. You in trouble now. I like the hade too, by the way.

Thanks I like it too! – should be finished by tomorrow as mum bought more wool and has started to cast off 🙂

Whahahaha! Love that face! What a beautiful photo! I bet you can now knit a complete ball of wool Ruby! 😀

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 17 2013 5:56 pm

Well I’ll try but I can’t seem to hold the needles in my paws 🙂

      • Sonel / Jul 17 2013 8:21 pm

Yes, I think that is going to be a bit difficult. They should make knitting needles for paws too. Silly humans! 😉

It is always soooo much fun when the dogs “help” me when I am working on any project.

🙂 I love that photo of you !! When i was younger i often tried to help Maria with things that she like to do … Once i accidentally took some bite of her nearly finished embroidered plate, which i was going to fetch to her … // Yarri 😉

You know Ruby sometimes the crafting bug hits me too and Boomer and Dottie don’t get it either and when they try to help things happen… like accidentally knotting up the yarn!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 17 2013 11:09 pm

This was something I’ve never seen in my nearly 3 years alive and I was just curious – honest:)

Ruby-I think your picture here could qualify as performance art!

  12. Booksphotographsandartwork / Jul 21 2013 3:51 am

Oh you are such a sweetie, you just wanted to help didn’t you? I would forgive you in a heartbeat.

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 21 2013 1:26 pm

I did want to help but ended up sucking half the wool and tangling up the rest 🙂

    Good job Ruby!
