Knitting with Ruby Part 2

IMG_1556

Tea cosy finally finished so evening walks have resumed. Doesn’t it look lovely? Only snaffled it once so far (the pom-pom was far too tempting but the pot was full of hot chai tea) and got badly told off so won’t be doing that again…

The teapot says “I’m hiding, quit bothering me”
The dog says “Oh no you don’t. No hiding!”
… but glad Ruby didn’t get scalded, the silly thing.

She was absolutely fine – very contrite. She understands heat – won’t go anywhere near the stove but will happily snaffle anything else within her reach in the rest of our small kitchen…

Haha! It’s gorgeous! Yes, my Moo would be a little tempted by that pompom for sure.

Thanks. Can’t believe how efficient it is about keeping things warm!! Now looking up tea cosy blogs – must stop…

      • terrimm / Jul 18 2013 3:00 pm

Haha! No, you can’t stop.. that’s the thing with craft… once you get started… did nobody tell you that? Ooops!

      • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 18 2013 3:29 pm

Thanks v much. Quite pleased with myself because am not at all crafty but you do get a bit of satisfaction from making something out of nothing ๐Ÿ™‚

It turned out really well….despite Ruby’s attempts at sabertarge! X

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 18 2013 5:24 pm

yes really pleased with myself and am overdosing on tea (and possibly knitting too – my fingers are stiff!)

  7. susank456 / Jul 18 2013 6:01 pm

It turned out well in spite of Ruby’s help.

As the photo loaded Ruby I was half expecting to see your head under it. I think mum needs to make you a head cossie next.

That is a lovely tea cosy !
Ruby, i can tell you something about pompomยดs or tassels … A few years ago i accidentally ate the tassel at Santas beanie … I got sick for 2 days … finally i managed to threw up the tassel …
Maria get very upset with me … You see before that, i have at 2 different occasions eaten up stones … With 2 gastric surgery as result … And at the first occasion, i almost died … Maria had to take me to nearest animal hospital on a Sunday … And that was in Norway …
So a word of advice from me to you … Be careful what you eat ๐Ÿ˜‰ // Yarri ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Yarri – will bear that in mind. Much as I like the vet I don’t want to get sick ๐Ÿ™‚

I like it – and I think I would look great with a hat like your tea cosy. Sadly my mom can’t knit – her products are funny but they are worse than useless :o)

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 19 2013 9:22 am

Maybe a beret? Actually I’m not a crafter at all but was suddenly inspired because it’s winter here and I’m drinking lashings of lukewarm tea ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. mollieandclaire / Jul 19 2013 8:50 am

It’s absolutely fab! Good colour too. At least it’s not pink, she might really have pinched it then!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 19 2013 9:26 am

Thanks I’m so glad you like it. I’m very proud although am getting a bit sick of drinking tea all day!

      • mollieandclaire / Jul 19 2013 9:49 am

You don’t have to drink tea all day… You can just have it and admire it! You could also knit a cafetiere cosy?!

      • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 19 2013 1:58 pm

You’re absolutely right! Actually thinking about knitting socks – but the whole three needle things might be too much. Maybe stick to tea cosies for birthday presents…although you’ve now got me on to that knitting blog – so much inspiration!

      • mollieandclaire / Jul 19 2013 4:18 pm

If you can knit tea cosies, you can knit hats. Everyone likes a homemade hat!

  12. 2browndawgs / Jul 22 2013 8:57 pm

    Very nice!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Jul 22 2013 9:00 pm

Thanks – I’m not a crafter by any stretch of the imagination but I did get a certain sense of satisfaction from finishing this off and giving my weary fingers a rest ๐Ÿ™‚
