The view from the pedestal
Ruby: You put me on a pedestal – will you catch me if I fall?
Owner: No way, get down from there and behave like a normal dog
Ruby: Ok (exits stage right, races off with lead trailing and steals cream bun from hand of small child)
Owner: (Lying to grandparent of small child) Terribly sorry, she’s a lovely dog really, well, still a puppy actually. Β She’s never, ever done this before. Β How much money can I give you to buy some more buns?
Now, why would you want a “normal” dog (what is normal, by the way?). You have the next “Marley & Me” material, dear woman. Get busy schlepping all those posts together so we can appreciate Ruby’s Shenanigans in paperback and then the big screen before some younger pup has to come along and audition for the part and pretend how to have so much character. :O)
You are too kind! Although three months of posts must amount to some bankable byline. Ruby a film star? Things might really go to her head – she might start showing off, eat the entire contents of the catering wagon and be banned from the set π
No, no; she’s a star. A furry diva; divas can do whatever they want. :O)
Great – no boundaries is good π
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby. It’s not nice to take food from a child.
(Ooops, Mama hit post too soon!) Continued: Just ask for the bun next time. Kids love to give pups stuff to eat! Woooooowoooooo, Ku
Ok. So I should work on my best pleading ‘I’m never fed and always hungry’ face?
Fair call if kid hasn’t got it figured out yet. Toddler in this place learning way to quickly to fend me off with her right hand or yell “Stop Bodhi” so mum can jump in. Flipside is however we shared a lovely bowl of strawberries at breakfast this morning. Mum told her to eat all her strawberries…. she shared them with me so she finished them quicker and could play. You were probably doing the kid a favour Ruby.
And love the pedestal. Have one on my track next to the creek. I will take a pic next time we are down there.
Hope you have a nice spot in the sun today…. just don’t get too hot with that black fur.
Oo let’s share pedestals. You’re right about the small child and of course I was saving it (him) from coronary heart disease later on in life…
Whahahahahha! What a treat you are Ruby and you look great on that pedestal hon. Great shot Charlie! π *big hugs*
Thanks. I can easily view my kingdom from up here.
Don’t we all put our dogs on a pedestal of some sorts? Some Labs are the perennial puppy the whole life. Orso, at almost seven years old is still just a great big puppy, wanting to wrestle or play tag.
Not sure I’d put Ruby on one, lovely though she is. She’s already too high in the pecking order in our house π
What’s a normal dog? I never met one :o) You rustled a cream bun? From a small biped? Cool!
I thought cool too and certianly delicious. Those small bipeds need to grow up!
So how was that bun that you stole? Pretty yummy I bet!
Delicious actually – creamy, soft and covered in icing sugar!
Hahaha good job on the bun, I’d definitely steal it too in your paws π
I see you are a dog after my own heart π
Oh yay Ruby is parkour-ing!
Of course – you taught me!
