Dash McSpeedy

Dash McSpeedy is my only pet friend at home. He spends hours and hours swimming around looking at his reflection in the water which I think must be quite strange as he can’t groom or change his appearance in any way.

He circles the surface at feeding times but during the day he plunges nose down into the bottom corner like a sunken torpedo.

Wish he would chat more but I guess it’s hard when your mouth is full of water

lovely picture, maybe you can practice speaking with water in your mouth 😛

Awwwww … he is totally adorable Ruby and yes, I think it must be difficult to talk with a mouth full of water. LOL! Charlie, this is a stunning shot and Dash is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 😀 *big hugs* to you, Ruby and a little tiny hug for Dash. 😀

Thanks – we love Dash. he is over 7 years old and still going strong. very food orientated like Ruby 🙂

Wow! Now that is a great example of a fish that is looked after so well. 😀

Yes he is on the large size but going so well for a fish his age. He’s had about 6 house moves too – well travelled!

I think he is gorgeous and I wonder what photo’s he would have posted if he could! 😆 Just shows you again what a wonderful person you are Charlie. Not every fish survives that many house moves. 😀

Dash is adorable Ruby…perhaps not so talkative but sometimes the deep thinkers are very quiet..wonder what Dash thinks ??? Hugs Fozziemum xx

Dash thinks in two minute memories. He is very sociable and loves any form of contact, including in Ruby’s youth paws and mouth in the tamk. He’s now up high 🙂

HAHAHA I can see why! 🙂

He looks like a nice pal!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 10 2013 5:43 pm

Well, he doesn’t communicate much although he wags his tail a lot 🙂

I hope he can eat when he has his mouth full of water?

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 10 2013 5:44 pm

It takes lots of practice but he’s obviously mastered it because he’s a rather fat fish!

Ruby, you should get a brother or sister. Then you can wrestle wrestle all day and be too tired to get into trouble! Woooooowoooooooo, Ku

Yes but the garden would be destroyed and the vegie patch eaten. Plus when would I get time to sleep – yawn, yawn 🙂

Beautiful photo Ruby–I am sure you must be the art director too among your many duties! 😉

Do you ever try to talk to him mind to mind? Do you guys stare at each other through the glass? I love goldfish and if I had the energy to keep the bowl clean I would have some. Any tips?

Fish are survivors – this photo is when the tank is clean. usually it’s green and murky. Dash doesn’t have a filter, has survived the trauma of many house moves and is a real personality in our house. Easy compared to Ruby!
