Eggs for breakfast

IMG_1185

Owner on a tight schedule so forced me to gallop 8km round the park in the rising heat. On my way I managed to snaffle a carton of six eggs (sitting next to a bbq, ready to be fried for a family’s breakfast) and half a baguette (buttered and ready to receive the bacon which I sadly couldn’t reach). Β Had a well-earned dip and sip in the culvert. Β Such rewards on a fine Sunday morning!

      • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 18 2013 5:29 pm

Oh no – about 24 here and glorious. Birds are singing, people are in sandals and the flies are annoying me!

Your ability to snaffle food is amazing Ruby… Don’t they feed you at home?

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 19 2013 3:42 pm

They do – breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. I have a malfunctioning brain which tells me I’m always hungry…

Hmmmm…sounds yummy Ruby. A pity about the bacon though. Would have been a great breakfast then. πŸ˜†
Great shot of Ruby Charlie. She really is enjoying the water. πŸ˜€

Yes typical lab for both food and water. There’s not much water around at the moment because it hasn’t rained for some time.

      • Sonel / Aug 19 2013 3:44 pm

        Typical..heheheh
That’s a pity but I am sure you will get your rains soon. πŸ˜€ *hugs*

That sounds like a fabulous sunday breakfast, Ruby! Do you like eggs? Me not – except the rotten bird egg I found on the street :o)

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 19 2013 3:44 pm

I love eggs although at the rate I ate them I’m not sure I really savoured them πŸ™‚

There was an advertising slogan in the UK years ago, “go to work on an egg.” I always thought the bus would be more useful … Ruby, you should watch your cholesterol with all those eggs!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 19 2013 3:45 pm

I remember go to work on an egg very clearly – bit like the ‘hot chocolate, drinking chocolate’ one πŸ™‚

Jack Henry wants to come live with you-he is convinced he will have a much more interesting diet. Sounds like a delightful way to start your day Miss Ruby!

πŸ˜€ Have you read Timbuktu by Paul Auster?

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 23 2013 1:39 pm

      No I haven’t – what’s it about?

      • Paula / Aug 23 2013 2:50 pm

A book about a dog from the perspective of a dog – I have a feeling you might like it πŸ™‚

      • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 23 2013 3:45 pm

Thanks – will look it up πŸ™‚

      • Paula / Aug 23 2013 4:11 pm

It is a short and touching read. Paul Auster is a masterful writer. I have a review of that book somewhere.

    Too bad about the bacon!

  12. likeitiz / Aug 28 2013 6:27 am

Now that was not so nice, Ruby. The eggs, I mean!

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Aug 28 2013 5:03 pm

Yes – very yummy raw things – slimey but with a crunchy finish πŸ™‚
