Roasted possum

It all looks idyllic but buried deep, deep in the grass was a small dead possum. Must have overheated in the scorching day on Tuesday and expired.  Owner strode off ahead and finally came back to find me head down, bum up in the middle of a feast. Of course I skedaddled before she could prise my second breakfast away. Gulped it down but don’t think singed fur is quite to my taste.

Golly – probably a passel (collective noun for a group of possums or, should I say more correctly, possa) 🙂

Absolutely – disgusting dog was banished to the garden becausee of course she also rolled in it and she smells foul…

Oh dear me Ruby, I don’t think that must have tasted well but I can’t judge. Human and furry kids taste differ. I suppose Charlie nearly had a heart attack. 😆

Not sure it was a heart attack but I was vvvv cross and was on a stricy time schedule so didn’t want to wait til she’d finished it. She knows when I’m cross!

Strangely enough they do know..hehehe. Wish I could have seen that face! LOL!

I’ve never eaten possum. I guess that they taste pretty good or you wouldn’t eat them. Actually I don’t know what a possum is. Apparently we don’t have them here. My person searched through the Raw Meaty Bones forum and discovered that they are ‘fair game’ but that you can get worms from them.

Interesting – such a delicacy. Possums are marsupials and vary from pygmy possum size (rat like) in the alpine area to slightly bigger than a small dog size. They are loved in Australia but treated as a pest in new zealand because they feast on the native vegetation. I’m sure they’re not very good for me but they smell and taste delicious:)

Oh ick Ruby, that doesn’t sound very good. I hope it didn’t make you sickly.
