Buzzy mouthfeel

IMG_2329

Have taken to barking loudly at flies to warn the family of impending danger.  They are noisy creatures but I’ve learnt to watch and wait and then catch them in my mouth to shut them up. Quite enjoy the buzzy feel for a while then I open wide and they pop out again, unharmed for Round 2. Such fun!

Your funny Ruby! Can’t believe they buzz out unharmed.
I’m more into trying to catch lizards at the moment.

Whahahahaha! I can just imagine it Ruby. Sounds like fun but I don’t think I’ll try it. What if that yucky thing decides to go up my nose! Eeeeuwwwww. 😆

I love the feeling – I am soft mouthed so don’t try and kill the fly. Like the tickles:)

hahahah. No, I am way too ticklish and my mouth is not as soft as yours. 😀

Or is it a bad habit? At least I don’t kill them, just wet their wings…

Forrest agrees with the great fun of blowflies Ruby 😉 hugs Fozziemum xx

Blow flies bring the loudest barks – just don’t know what she thinks is the problem!

      • fozziemum / Sep 30 2013 6:05 pm

Who knows ? hehe Forrest just hates that the march flies bite while he is trying to eat his bone..does the yard dance all summer..up and move start gnawing..up and move and on and on they drive him crazy…

I don’t like those march flies either – pesky things…

      • fozziemum / Sep 30 2013 7:34 pm

To hunt flies is the best sport. You have the prey and the treats for protecting your bipeds :o)

    • rubytheblacklabrador / Oct 1 2013 8:19 am

Yes although I think they think I’m mad chasing them around. Don’t get too many treats out of my efforts either:)

How nice that you free them to let them fly another day Ruby-Master Hubble hunts the flies down with such focus it is a bit frightening to watch. Try to keep him though from bees and wasps-he had to learn the hard way earlier in the summer with a big bee! Ouch!

Yes – a humanitarian after all and supporter of small insects. Great tip about bees though – thanks:)

The difference between you and Dottie is that she swallows them!

We do that too – but sometimes get confused when bugs are outside the window, leaves an awful lot of sticky nose prints on the glass! 🙂

hahaha good luck with the fly catching, I like moths myself

We have huge mothe here – bogan moths which fly from the snowy mountains to Sydney and back again. Not quite the right time of year yet – but their wings are too dusty for me:)

    What great eye/mouth coordination Ruby!

BOL! Mr. K tries to do what you do. He chomps at the flies but rarely gets to catch one like you do! Much love, The Scottie Mom.

LOL Freighter barks and tries to catch bugs in his mouth too. Its OK except for bees.

Ruby, you are a dog with so many talents! You never cease to amaze me with your antics. Buzzy flies unharmed when you shoosh them? Wow. I hope they’re not the biting kind.

Labradors are soft mouthed dogs so they don’t gnaw and tear at things – generally hold them softly in their mouths. I’m just fascinated by the flies:)
